Unable to get security money, Papuan KKB Burns a Truck for the Bibida Health Center Construction Project
The Papuan Armed Criminal Group (KKB) is at it again. This time, KKB Papua set fire to a truck used for the construction of a puskesmas in the interior of Paniai Regency, Papua.
The Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, explained that the arson case took place in the Bibida District, Paniai Regency, Friday (19/8/2022) at around 00.20 WIT. Kamal added that the burning of the Bibida Health Center project facility was witnessed by two witnesses, namely Rofinus Zonggonau (40) and Aprelita Tolede (54).
"The two witnesses who saw a group of OTK (unidentified people) who visited the Bibida Health Center project immediately set fire to a truck that was known to belong to PT Putra Dewa Paniai," Kombes Kamal said in his statement quoted on Sunday (22/8/2022).
Kamal said the truck parked in front of the entrance gate caught fire completely. He explained that the police immediately came to the scene to conduct an investigation.
There were no fatalities or injuries from this incident. Allegedly, said Kamal, the arson was carried out by the KKB Paniai group led by Stefanus Kobogau and Ayun Waker who were members of the KKB Kodap VIII Kemabu, Intan Jaya Regency.
"For the motive for the burning, it is known that there were talks between the company and the group discussing security money, but this has not been realized until now," he said.
Furthermore, Kamal said the police were still conducting an investigation to find the perpetrators who committed the crime.
