Papuan People Are Grateful To Get Special Houses From The Government

The Special House Program (Rusus) of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) helps low-income people (MBR) living in border areas and remote islands in Papua Province.
.
"In addition to the MBR, the development of special projects in Papua is also intended for religious / traditional leaders, conflict-affected communities, officers, education and health personnel serving in border areas and former OPM members, said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in his written statement, Saturday (12) / 1/2019).
.
A number of people in the Papua Province felt helped by the provision of special programs from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
.
Bernard Sie, 62, a resident of Rusus in Kampung Skow, Muara Tami District, Jayapura City, said he was happy to live in his native land in Papua by occupying a house built by the government.
.
Rusus that he occupies is one of 50 Rusus units built by the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Housing Provision in 2015.
.
"I am happy because the Government provides services to make people's lives better. I must say, the Government of Indonesia is one of the best of many countries that I know of," said Bernard Sie who lives with his wife and eight children.
.
Meanwhile, Frans Wally, 48, a tribal chief in Kehira village, Jayapura regency, told that before the Rusus program was held, one house was occupied by mothers, children and grandchildren.
.
With the construction of the mosque, children who are married must move away from living with parents. The Rusus occupied by Frans is one of 50 Rusus built in Kehiran I Village, Jayapura Regency in 2016.
.
"Economically we cannot build houses like this. But with the attention of the Government from the Central to the Regions, they also have a heart for the people, finally we can have a house like this," said Frans.
.
Rusus Development also touched Ariepi Village, Kosiwo District, Yapen Islands Regency, Papua. A total of 25 Rusus units were built in the area in 2017 and are already inhabited.
.
Kris Nussy, former TPN-OPM commander in East Yapen, who had declared integration on August 17, 2017, said that before a house was inhabited by 2-3 families, it was very narrow.
.
In 2018, the Rusus development will be allocated to remote communities and ex-OPM in East Yapen and West Yapen with a total of 24 units.
.
"I am very grateful. If this development is allowed, do not break up. Continue in 2019 and 2020. Continue so that our brothers who do not understand can be able to. Places that have not yet been built must be built," he explained.
.
Rusus built by the Ministry of PUPR is generally a type 36 house that has been equipped with water and infrastructure facilities and utilities (PSU) such as environmental roads, drainage, electricity and water.
.
These conditions are expected to increase comfort for residents. Nationally the development of Rusus by the Ministry of PUPR for the 2015-2018 period was 22,358 units. In 2019, Rusus development is targeted at 3,230 units.
