The People of Papua and West Papua Will Not Celebrate the Independence of West Papua New Guinea 27 November 2019 and OPM Anniversary 1 December 2019

Makar and separatist groups such as West Papua New Guinea and the Free Papua Movement (OPM) plan to celebrate their independence days on November 27, 2019 and December 1, 2019, respectively.
.
In fact, their plan did not get a response from the people in the land of Papua and West Papua, even some community leaders will try to reprimand any group who will hold actions to commemorate the OPM Anniversary December 1, 2019, because the people of Papua and West Papua do not want to be victims of provocation and do not want take actions that enter the realm of treason.
.
Not only the government, religious leaders in Papua also appealed to the public not to participate in celebrating activities that oppose the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia. Chairman of the Jayapura City Nahdatul Ulama (NU) Branch Chairperson KH Abdul Kahar Yelipele invited all residents in Papua Province and Jayapura City to maintain peace and harmony.
.
Citizens and religious people should not be provoked and provoked by irresponsible invitations because they can damage brotherhood and peace.
.
Christian and Catholic religious leaders also think the same. They invited people not to participate in movements that divide people. Entering December, Christians will prepare for Christmas. Therefore, it is better to focus only on worship, rather than doing demonstrations that are not useful like that.
.
Therefore, all people must religiously support so that the celebration of Christmas can take place safely and comfortably, and full of wisdom.
.
In addition, the general public also rejected this celebration. If counted, actually only a handful of people in Papua support OPM. Due to the fact that the majority of Papuans reject the existence of separatist groups which often afflict the community and hamper development.
.
The Free Papua Organization (OPM) is not actually fighting on behalf of Papua. They are only a handful of people who claim to be Papua, but are actually being used by other people or people with foreign interests, and demand separation from the Republic of Indonesia.
