The Story of Jimmy Rajagukguk, Revealing the Sadistic Ritual of KKB Papua, Shots Accompanied by Dance, Cruel |
What happened to Jimmy Rajagukguk (Aritonang) in Nduga, Papua, on Saturday (1/12/2018), will never disappear from his memory.
.
The smell of gunpowder when firearms KKB members strafed his colleagues in the Peak Kabo, screaming for help, until the words of prayer to the Creator begging for safety as if stuck in Jimmy's mind.
.
Jimmy could still feel his heartbeat getting faster as he and a dozen of his colleagues were led to Kabo Peak to be slaughtered.
.
Jimmy survived the gunfire and the pursuit of KKB members. Trauma was still visible on Jimmy's face, but he was willing to share a life story that he would never forget. Here are a number of Jimmy stories, survivors of the KKB attack in Nduga:
.
On that day, about a dozen employees of PT Istaka Karya were in one of the office's rooms gathered while playing dominoes to spend a break at around 15:00 CET.
.
Suddenly some KKB members arrived with firearms and sharp weapons breaking down the doors of the office and the camp room where Jimmy worked.
.
At that time, the workers refused to open the door. Some workers had time to resist, but failed. Finally, 24 PT Istaka employees and 1 PUPR employee were gathered.
.
"Then we were gathered and told to line up. Not only that, they asked us to take off our clothes and take our phones, wallets and money, "Jimmy said.
.
At that time, the KKB asked workers to contact the leader of the workers' camp, Jonny Arung.
.
Jimmy said, the KKB forced workers to take off their clothes and shoes. Then they were led out of the camp to be taken to the Kabo Peak.
.
"Initially we will go to Kabo Peak. However, after about 2 hours of walking, the KKB asked to stop and bind us all. He said they were waiting for our boss, Jonny Arung (a victim who has not yet been found). Jonny is our boss in the field. He is also a public relations officer at PT Istaka Karya, "Jimmy said.
.
When it was seen a priest and two local residents came to the location of the traditional stone-burning ceremony to meet the KKB groups. The priest and the citizen asked KKB to release all of PT Istaka Karya's employees.
.
"At that time they were reluctant to let us go and asked the priest and two members of the community for the boss to come. When he comes, we release them. Then the priest and the community left us, "he said.
.
After 2 hours of waiting, Jonny Arung never came. Eventually, the KKB broke the bonds and forced the workers to enter the camp in the Karunggame area.
.
Arriving at the Kabo Peak, workers who are tired and scared are finally gathered. Then the KKB members committed heinous acts that workers had never suspected.
.
"So they brought a camera to record. There were three of our friends who were asked to claim to be members of the TNI from the Kopassus, BIN and Bais units. I personally do not know what they mean. In Puncak Kabo we are scared, tortured and can only pray that God will protect us, "said Jimmy.
.
Shortly from the video recording, said Jimmy, they were put together and shot with a distance of approximately 2 meters using 6 rifles and 3 pistols.
.
After that, still with the same weapons, the KKB members aimed at the workers while dancing.
.
"The weapon was used to shoot us. There are dances they do. Then they shoot while they surround and dance. At that time, their fire was not aimed and there were some of us who were not shot, including me. However, we all pretended to be dead, "Jimmy said.
.
Jimmy saw with his own eyes some of his colleagues fell down after being hit by a bullet.
.
Jimmy escaped being shot, but he chose to play dead. The method turned out to be telling. KKB did not realize that he was still alive.
.
After waiting a few moments, Jimmy got up and it turns out a number of friends are still alive. They immediately decided to run for help.
.
Unfortunately, a number of KKB members saw the workers still alive and fled, including Jimmy. A number of workers were arrested again, and executed by the KKB.
.
In his escape, Jimmy had met with 3 colleagues. However, when they found out the KKB was still chasing them, Jimmy was separated. Jimmy was hiding inside a large tree that had fallen.
.
At that time Jimmy heard the voice of his colleague being executed by the KKB.
.
After walking in the thick of the forest to avoid being overtaken by the KKB, Jimmy finally arrived at the Dall area. Jimmy was relieved when meeting with local residents.
.
However, some members of the KKB had already been in Dall. Jimmy could only surrender when the KKB member arrested him again.
.
When her life expectancy was running low, a mother came and gave her clothes and food. After giving him clothes and food, the mother went to church and called the priest.
.
"At that time they were using regional languages, negotiating so that I would not be killed. Then not long after, the priest said, 'Come on, let's go and don't continue eating.' Then we leave, "Jimmy said remembering the priest's words.
.
Jimmy was finally escorted to the TNI Post in Mbua by the priest. Jimmy breathed a sigh of relief. His life can still be saved.
.
However, Jimmy's relief was broken after the TNI Post in Mbua was attacked by the KKB who was chasing him. One soldier was shot dead. Jimmy was caught in a crossfire for about 16 hours.
.
After a 16-hour firefight that killed Serda Handoko, the commander of the Mbua TNI Post ordered everyone in the post to evacuate. The corpse of Serda Handoko was also taken along, including all military ammunition.
.
"Probably around 11:00 PM we left the post. At that time we helped TNI members carry their belongings such as ammunition. The TNI does not want any ammunition left, while members carry weapons. So we help, "he said.
.
A total of 22 soldiers, four workers and several civilians walked through the dark forest. Occasionally they hide when they see a flashlight from a KKB member who is still looking for them.
.
Then on December 4, 2018, at around 15:00 CEST, Jimmy's entourage and troops from the Mbua TNI Post managed to meet a rescue team of 150 people from the TNI and Polri.
.
"So we managed to find an evacuation team from the TNI and Polri apparatus with 24 cars. At that time we were invited to return to the Mbua TNI Post, "he said.
.
After arriving at the Mbua TNI Post along with rescue troops, Jimmy then recounted the chronology of the hostage-taking in a labor camp to mass executions on Puncak Kabo.
.
At that time, Jimmy was willing to help the authorities to return to the Kabo Peak and see the condition of his colleagues.
.
"Actually I'm afraid. But while on the run. I remember the victims who died, like the last three people I saw died. "It's very far away and also the deceased Hutagaol, who was forced to stay because I could no longer walk due to being shot in the leg," he said.
.
However, after receiving information that one of the members was hit, Jimmy canceled being involved in the evacuation mission.
.
On December 4, 2018 at around 17.55 East Indonesian Time, Jimmy Rajagukguk along with 11 other civilians were evacuated using a MI 17 helicopter belonging to the TNI from Mbua District bound for Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency.
.
After being evacuated to Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, then Jimmy Rajagukguk was evacuated to Timika, Mimika Regency, and now he is in Sentani, Jayapura Regency.
