There is No Discrimination Regarding the Transfer of 7 Makar Suspects

The National Police stated that the transfer of seven suspects in a riot case from the Papua Regional Police Headquarters to the East Kalimantan Regional Police Headquarters was for good and reduced the potential for conflict when holding hearings.

"According to the Papua Regional Police Chief this is intended for the good of Papua. (Expected) During the hearing, a riot did not occur," said Head of the Public Information Division at the National Police Headquarters Division, Senior Commissioner Asep Adi Saputra, 7 October 2019.

They are the Chairperson of the West Papua National Committee Center (KNPB) Agus Kossay, KNPB Chairperson Mimika Steven Itlay, Chairperson II of the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP) Buchtar Tabuni, Fomb Combo, Alexander Gobay, Hengki Hilapok, and Irwanus Uropmabin. The seven men were suspected of treason because they were involved in a riot in the Papuan student dormitory in Surabaya, in August 2019.
