TNI-Polri Meet Intan Jaya Community Leaders

Regent of Intan Jaya, Papua, Natalis Tabuni, SS, M.Si together with Forkopimda held a meeting to hear firsthand the various complaints of the community related to the impact of armed contact between OPM and TNI-POLRI, recently.

In the second meeting the Regent explained that the problem of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) was a matter of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). So that the presence of military and police personnel to Papua, especially Intan Jaya aims to provide security to the community.

"The TNI-Polri affairs are chasing each other with TPNPB-OPM, it is a state matter. The important thing is that the people do not run to the forest, "said the Regent.

The Bupati acknowledged that he had received complaints from a number of residents who felt traumatized by the treatment of the military and police in the past against the Papuan people, but the Bupati reassured the residents that there was currently no such thing.

"Has there been since the presence of the TNI-Polri, from December 17 until now December 27, there have been people who were threatened or feared? Isn't that right? "Said the Regent.

To provide security to the community in carrying out their daily activities, the Regent formed a Team which was chaired directly by the Regional Secretary of Intan Jaya Regency, Aser Mirip. In the team, there are elements of the DPRD, Polres and Dandim Preparation, and the church.

The same thing was expressed by AKBP Yuli K. Pongbala SP.d. In his short remarks he reminded the public not to be afraid of the TNI-Polri. "Our duty here is to provide security to the people. The people and the TNI-Polri let us work together, "he said.
