The government of Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua, closed access to Kota Mulia, the capital of Puncak Jaya Regency.
The policy was taken to prevent the spread and transmission of the corona virus to the area.
This was decided after the Puncak Jaya Regency Government held a cross-sectoral meeting on prevention and handling of the 19th Covid outbreak in the Sasana Kawonak Hall, Puncak Jaya Regent's Office, Thursday (3/19/2020) afternoon.
Puncak Jaya Regent, Yuni Wonda, revealed that the closing of access will begin Monday (3/23/2020) until 4 April 2020.
With this policy, teaching and learning activities and regional government offices, the DPRD was temporarily closed.
Likewise with transportation in and out of Kota Mulia, both via air and land are temporarily closed.
"We actually do not lockdown, this is only as a quarantine so that people from outside not temporarily enter," said Yuni, in a written statement on Thursday (3/19/2020).
