PLN Papua and West Papua Alert 1,940 Officers to Anticipate Interference

The management of PT PLN Papua and West Papua (UIWP2B) Main Unit alert 1,940 officers, consisting of employees and power experts. They are deployed in the regions of Papua and West Papua, in order to secure and anticipate if there is interference from the electricity system during Eid Al-Fitr this year.

Previously, PLN had also carried out troops in several Customer Service Implementing Units (UP3). This activity was carried out to check the staff's readiness and the equipment needed, and ensure health protocols in the field continued to be carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We have prepared the reliability of the electrical system for the celebration of Eid. Even in this condition, we must continue to be ready to maintain the electricity system, "said General Manager of PT PLN UIWP2B, Ari Dartomo, Saturday, May 23, 2020.

Ari added that overall the condition of the electricity system in Papua and West Papua was sufficiently reliable. While on the power plant side, most of the regions already have excess power that is quite large compared to the peak load at that location.

"We prepare it from the network and power side. The electricity supply from the power plant side is quite safe, where there are no generators that experience a deficit. For networks, some officers will standby if interference occurs. Yes, although we hope that there will be no disturbances, "explained Ari.

These preparations were made to ensure that all Muslim communities in Papua and West Papua could celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1441 H calmly and comfortably, even though the current condition of the Covid-19 pandemic forced everyone to do most of the activities at home.
