Kopassus Danjen Maj. Gen. I Nyoman Cantiasa provided assistance in the form of food packages to the Papuan Community in Jakarta, which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The assistance was given by Danjen Kopassus at the Papua Pavilion in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta.
"This assistance is to ease the burden of our Papuan brothers and sisters who live in Jakarta and at the same time be a moral responsibility as an indigenous child of Manwaren Saereri, Papua," said Cantiasa.
The assistance is also a form of TNI's attention to the community, especially the Papuan Community in Jakarta and at the same time is a real implementation of the TNI united with the people because the TNI comes from the people.
The assistance is also a form of caring and fraternity of the Kopassus Large Family to the Papuan Community in Jakarta amid the corona virus pandemic or COVID-19 which has been going on for approximately three months.
"This assistance is a form of Kopassus concern for our brothers in the Papua Community," said the former Kasender XVII Cenderawasih.
He said the outbreak of the corona virus had an impact on various aspects of life, especially economic life in all walks of life including brothers from the Papua Community in Jakarta.
"The spread of the corona virus has a wide impact on various aspects of people's lives, especially the economic life of the community, including our brothers from Papua in Jakarta," said the award-winning Adhimakayasa.
This condition then moved the Kopassus Family to attend in the midst of the difficulties of the Papuan people and was called to provide food packages.
We are always aware that the provision of food packages cannot overcome the difficulties experienced as a whole, but it is hoped that this will provide stimulus and motivation to the brothers of the Papua Community to continue to live better in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He hoped that the activities carried out could encourage the brothers of the Papuan Community to increasingly realize that differences in ethnicity, religion and race were valuable capital to move towards a prosperous and well-developed Indonesian society within the framework of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia.
Danjen Kopassus also gave high appreciation to the Papuan people in Jakarta who had followed the government's recommendations to comply with health protocols, such as wearing masks, washing their hands, and keeping their distance to cut the corona virus distribution chain.
