The Jayapura Independent Journalist Alliance (AJI) appreciates and welcomes the launch of the application for registration of journalists covering the XX National Sports Week (PON) in Papua Province.
Lucky Ireeuw, Chairman of AJI Jayapura in Jayapura, Wednesday, said that up to now there are still many people who do not know about Papua.
"In addition, there are still many people who consider Papua closed with all the limitations of access," he said.
So that with the launch of the registration application for journalists covering PON XX that has been made and without limiting the amount, it is expected to be able to show various aspects of people's lives in Papua.
"With the large number of journalists coming to Papua, all aspects of people's lives can be seen, including the tourism sector," he said.
He explained that overall, for the Papua Province PON Executive Board (PB), his party represented AJI very supportive.
"We express our gratitude and give our utmost appreciation for the launch of this application," he said again.
He added that for the coverage of PON, journalists actually only needed access where PB PON provided sufficient and adequate facilities so that it could provide maximum information.
