BLT Design for Formal and Informal Workers

The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of West Papua through the Hands of Love Program, will distribute cash assistance to formal and informal workers affected by Covid-19 in the West Papua region.

In connection with the distribution of aid, the Sorong Selatan Manpower and Transmigration Office held a coordination meeting with leaders of three state-owned banks in Teminabuan namely BRI, BNI and Bank Mandiri, as well as the police and the Employment BPJS.

Plt. Head of South Sulawesi Manpower and Transmigration Office, Yakob Thesia, S.Pd, told reporters that provincial government assistance was distributed by the Disnakertrans of West Papua Province. The distribution mechanism is carried out through three state-owned banks, and is directly addressed to the names of registered recipients.

It was explained that the number of recipients of the Hand of Love program in South Korea was 1,437 people. Each beneficiary will receive cash in the amount of Rp. 1,800,000. The amount of aid was calculated from April, May and June 2020, so that each month the recipient received assistance of Rp. 600,000.

"Registered in South Sorong Regency around 1437 people. We will channel it through the banking mechanism. Those who receive assistance are formal and informal workers who have never been able to get any social assistance. For that I express my gratitude to the governor of West Papua, who paid attention to the community in the form of the Loving Hands Program, "he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of BPJS Employment of the West Papua Branch through the Head of BPJS Employment Section Syarifuddin said that the assistance was directly related to the workforce, so BPJS Employment was involved to provide protection.

"So later in this assistance, will be set aside for their protection program. Namely for work accident insurance and life insurance for the next 6 months. So if there is a disaster of the two risks, BPJS Employment will provide compensation in accordance with existing provisions, "he said.

Related to this, continued Syarifuddin, the Labor BPJS will socialize it in distribution banks. So the deduction of contributions for the two BPJS Employment guarantee programs must be known by the beneficiary.
