As a form of Bank Indonesia's support in developing human resource capacity in Papua to achieve the vision of an advanced Indonesia, the Papua Province Bank Indonesia Representative Office distributed scholarships to 250 students from 5 (five) tertiary institutions with a total nominal value of IDR 2.4 billion.

The distribution increased compared to last year which was given to 150 students from 3 (three) tertiary institutions with a total nominal value of IDR 1.5 billion.

The distribution ceremony was carried out by the Head of Representative of Bank Indonesia for Papua Province, Naek Tigor Sinaga to each Representative of Higher Education, Thursday (13/8/2020).

The ceremony for the distribution of Bank Indonesia scholarships was carried out in a series of BI teaching events in 2020 held by Bank Indonesia Representative Offices in the context of the 67th BI Anniversary and the 75th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

Head of the BI Representative Office for Papua Province, Naek Tigor Sinaga said the BI Teaching program is a program that is routinely carried out every year by Bank Indonesia, both at the Head Office and all Bank Indonesia Representative Offices.

However, there is a difference in the implementation of BI Teaching this year, which is usually done face-to-face and is now done virtually (online).

The BI Teaching Program in 2020, which was attended by 393 participants from all over Indonesia, carried the theme "Synergy to Build BI Digital and Advanced Indonesia" which emphasized the importance of the development of the digital economy as an indicator of developed countries, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

This is in line with Bank Indonesia's vision of Becoming the Leading Digital Central Bank with Real Contribution to the National Economy and the Best among Emerging Markets for Advanced Indonesia.
