"Pi Ajar" Police Target Students in North Manokwari

The West Papua Regional Police's 'Teaching Police' program targeted dozens of school-age children in North Manokwari District, Manokwari Regency by providing trauma healing for children who were mostly at home during the Covid-19 pandemic.

West Papua Police spokesman, AKBP Adam Erwindi said, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, children were naturally bored because the teaching and learning program had not been effectively implemented, therefore the West Papua Police came through the Teaching Police program, to revive children's enthusiasm.

"Activities carried out, such as teaching and singing in red-and-white nuances, will add to the spirit of nationalism for the children, so that from an early age they have a love for the Indonesian homeland," said Adam, Friday (14/8/2020).

In addition to instilling nationalism, said Adam, the personnel involved also provided understanding to children in the North Manokwari District about who the police are, what kind of tasks are given by the State to the Police.

"We also introduce Polri to children, in addition to fostering their spirit of nationalism through playing and learning. Children were also given masks and educated about health protocols so they could avoid the dangers of Covid-19, "said Adam.
