The TNI Must Be A Teacher When Working in Papua



Soldiers assigned to guard the border areas must have a variety of skills. After previously working as a health worker, now the 516 / CY Mechanized Infantry Battalion Task Force is also required to be a teacher for young people living on the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border.

Danpos Arimop, Serka Diduk who was appointed to be the teaching teacher at the school said that previously, his party had coordinated with the local SMPN.

"We work together in providing knowledge and insight. So, the teaching and learning process can run well, "he said.

In addition to character building, he also provides training in state defense, patriotism and the spirit of nationalism.

“It must be owned by the young generation on this border. So, they have the spirit of patriotism and love for the country (NKRI), "he explained.

As a result, this effort was appreciated by Dansatgas Yonmek 516, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Radhi Rusin. Contacted via his cellphone, Lieutenant Colonel Radhi said that the involvement of personnel in the teaching and learning process was aimed at improving the quality of education in border areas.

"Especially improving the human resource aspect of the community," he concluded.
