KPU Yalimo continues to socialize health protocols during the elections

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Yalimo Regency, Papua Province continues to socialize health protocols (prokes) at the stages ahead of the 2020 Pilkada.

Chairman of the KPU, Yalimo Yehemia Walianggen, when contacted from Wamena, the capital of Jayawijaya Regency, on Sunday, said that in addition to the public, the socialization of the prokes was also carried out to candidate participants in the regional elections.

"We at the office implement this and every time we carry out KPU activities, it is still a health protocol such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance, including limiting the number of attendees," he said.

In PKPU No.13 of 2020, there are sanctions that must be borne by pilkada participants if they violate health protocols, such as presenting campaign masses of more than the specified number.

"As election organizers, our job is to convey protocols and stages. Furthermore, it becomes the authority of Bawaslu, for example when more than 50 were present during the campaign, it means they have the authority to give a written warning, "he said.

In addition to continuing to urge election participants to apply health protocols, the KPU expects the support of all parties to make the regional head elections a success.

"We hope Yalimo will remain in a safe, peaceful condition and a successful election stage with the support of the candidate pair and all supporters," he said.
