According to the Chairperson of the Team for the Acceleration of Expansion of the candidate for Southwest Papua Province, Lambert Jitmau, the support of Governor Dominggus Mandacan was evidenced by the issuance of the Decree of the Governor of West Papua Number 125/72/3/2020 concerning the Approval for the Establishment of the Province of Southwest Papua as the Expansion of West Papua Province on March 12. 2020 ago.

"The decree has been submitted to the President through the Minister of Home Affairs and to related Ministries and institutions," said Lambert Jitmau.

He added that the West Papua Governor's Decree was to complete or fulfill and update the files needed in the framework of the formation of the New Autonomous Region of the Province of Southwest Papua.

This is also related to the main requirement for the expansion of the new autonomous region of West Papua Province, which must obtain approval from the Governor of West Papua Province.

The approval from the Governor of the West Province was deemed necessary, this is because the West Papua new autonomous region is currently still in the territory of West Papua Province.

"So if there is an opinion that the recommendation for the expansion of the West Papua New Guinea is wrong, because the candidate for Southwest Papua Province is in the administrative area of ​​West Papua Province," he said.
