KPU and Bawaslu in West Papua prevent the corona cluster in simultaneous regional elections
Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) of West Papua Province, Paskalis Semunya said, in general, the campaign stages in West Papua Province in the 9 (nine) regional elections for the 2020 Pilkada were running safely, and obeying the health protocol for preventing Covid-19 or corona.
"For the campaign stage, the Provincial KPU only provides assistance related to administrators' compliance with health protocols to prevent Pilkada clusters," he said.
Everyone also said that in the campaign stage, currently the KPUD of the nine regional elections implementing the Pilkada are simultaneously ensuring the availability of campaign props (APK) before being distributed to contestants.
"Given the increasingly limited campaign time, we from the province also provide assistance related to APK, so that the third party as the winner of the tender in printing APK to be distributed to the contestants," he said.
Meanwhile, Dani Balubun, the legal division of Bawaslu Teluk Bintuni Regency, said that in addition to monitoring the 2020 Pilkada stages, Bawaslu is also obliged to carry out supervision of compliance with the Covid-19 prevention health protocol during the Pilkada process and stages in the area.
"Every meeting both at the KPUD and during the campaign period, we also monitor and supervise to ensure that health protocols are followed," he said.
Meanwhile, regarding complaints of alleged Election violations, Bawaslu Bintuni has received complaints from one of the candidate pairs for Pilkada contestants, but it is still in the process of being reviewed.
