KPU Papua ensures the preparation of disposable gloves at every polling station

The General Election Commission (KPU) of Papua Province ensures that the organizers will prepare disposable gloves at each polling station (TPS).

Member of the KPU Papua Province, Division of Socialization, Voter Education, Community Participation and Human Resources, Adam Arisoi told Antara in Jayapura, Monday, that all polling stations in the 11 districts administering the elections must comply with the COVID-19 health protocol.

"Whether the area has a pandemic or not yet, what is clear is that the health protocol must be implemented in which disposable gloves are one of the prerequisites," he said.

According to Adam, this must be done to break the chain of spreading COVID-19 in Papua Province.

"As for officers at the TPS themselves, before the day of implementation they must undergo a rapid rapid test so that they can be sure that they are in safe conditions," he said.

He explained that these officers would be at the forefront so that they had to be in a non-reactive and negative condition so that the implementation of voting was safe.

"We appeal to the people not to be afraid of a pandemic, because the KPU guarantees safety, so please use their voting rights," he said again.

He added that the article was that the voting rights guaranteed that aspirations could be submitted every five years so that they could be given to candidates who were deemed to be developing their regions.

Based on data from the KPU of Papua Province, there are 11 districts that held the 2020 Pilkada, namely Yahukimo, Keerom, Bintang Mountains, Mamberamo Raya, Merauke, Boven Digoel, Asmat, Supiori, Waropen, Yalimo and Nabire.
