Regent Support Extended Special Autonomy

The period of special autonomy (otsus) is about to end, but there are still many homeworks that have not been fully completed. Observing these conditions, evaluation must of course be carried out. Either Otsus will end or will continue.

Maybrat Regent, Drs. Bernard Sagrim, MM firmly stated his full support for Otsus for Papua to be extended, because it has a positive impact on the welfare of the community. Otsus must be supported, because it is a central government policy that must be enforced, including the authority for indigenous Papuans. The presence of Otsus brings positive values to the land of Papua.

"This special autonomy brings good values, why should we reject it. And we still have the authority, for example, the authority to collect or tax. And if the special autonomy funds are indeed more, then give the community a salary. This is the advantage of otsus, ”explained Bernard Sagrim.

This authority must be regulated by the regions, added the regent, so as to improve the welfare of the community and superior and professional human resources through proper education so that they can develop in Papua.
