The Ministry of Health PDDT supports the Prospect of West Papua Special Autonomy
The Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Areas and Transmigration (Kemendes PDDT) supports the Strategic Village Development Improvement Program (Prosppek) implemented by West Papua Province through the special autonomy fund (Otsus).
Director of Basic Social Services of the Ministry of Health PDDT, Bito Wikantosa, at the launch of the West Papua Special Autonomy Prospect in Manokwari, said that President Joko Widodo had issued Presidential Decree No.59 of 2017 concerning the goals of sustainable development or village sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Bito explained that the Presidential Decree contains 18 sustainable development goals in the village including the creation of villages without poverty, villages without hunger, healthy and prosperous villages, quality village education, involvement of village women, and villages that are safe for clean water and sanitation.
Furthermore, villages with clean and renewable energy, even rural economic growth, village infrastructure and innovation, villages without gaps, safe and comfortable rural residential areas, and environmentally conscious village consumption and production.
Next is a village that is responsive to climate change, a village that cares about the environment of kaut, a village that cares about the land environment, a peaceful village with justice, a partnership for village development as well as dynamic village institutions and adaptive village culture.
His party hopes that the Special Autonomy Prospect implemented by West Papua Province is synergized with the village SDGs stipulated by the President through the Presidential Regulation. The program is also expected to run optimally so that it can raise the economy of indigenous Papuans.
"It can bring economic equality and welfare between indigenous Papuans and non-Papuans," he said.
He is optimistic that with the effectiveness of village fund management and the prospect of special autonomy funds, SDGs can be realized in West Papua The Ministry of PDTT, said Bito, will immediately prepare work guidelines and capacity building for assistants in the Village Community Development and Empowerment Program (P3MD) so that they can work together in this program. .
