TIMIKA AIRPORT TERMINALS are targeted for RAMPUNG BEFORE PON 2020
Mimika Regent Eltinus Omaleng emphasized that the construction of the passenger terminal building for Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport is targeted to be completed and operated before the XX National Sports Week (PON) in September-October 2020 in Papua.
"All facilities for the implementation of PON 2020, both the venue and the passenger terminal building at Timika Airport, must be completed before the PON activities," said Regent Omaleng in Timika.
Regent Omaleng admitted that he had conducted an inspection at Timika Airport to see the progress of the construction of the passenger terminal building, both those built with Mimika State Budget and Regional Budget funds.
The Timika Airport passenger terminal building is on the southern side of the runway at the current Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport. Meanwhile, the Timika Airport passenger terminal building on the north side, which is temporarily functioning, was built by PT Freeport Indonesia and was inaugurated since 2008.
According to the consultant's report, Regent Omaleng said, the construction of the fourth phase of the Timika Airport passenger terminal building sourced from the 2018 State Budget has reached 90 percent.
Some of the follow-up work in the 2018 fiscal year contract that is being completed is painting the inside and outside of the terminal building, installing roof ceiling frames, installing doors in all rooms including service offices, canteens, prayer rooms and others.
Quality Control of PT Citra Prasasti Consorindo, Warsan Saputra, explained that the work of the Timika Airport terminal building, which is funded by the state budget, involves 200 workers including architectural and electrical.
The passenger terminal building for Timika Airport, financed by the state budget, measures 180 x 56 square meters with a two and a half floor construction. The workers have completed architectural work in the form of installing glass, door frames and dividing walls between rooms on the inside of the Timika Airport terminal building.
The new 2019 contract work will be realized starting next May.
Apart from receiving funding support from the central government through the state budget, the construction of the passenger terminal building for Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport also received financial support from the Mimika APBD.
Mimika APBD funds are used to build a terminal building unit (located next to the passenger terminal building built with APBN funds) with a size of 160 x 79 square meters with two and a half floors construction.
Supervisory Consultant Maraden Hutajulu said the work of the Timika Airport terminal building for the 2018 fiscal year experienced delays due to an adjustment in the image with the Timika Airport terminal building built by the Ministry of Transportation. Adjustment of the image is in order to strengthen the physical structure and shape of the building from earthquake shocks.
“Funds sourced from the 2018 Mimika Regional Budget are used for structural strengthening, architecture and several other parts. We are optimistic that all the work for the Timika Airport passenger terminal building can be completed before the 2020 PON, "said Maraden.
To note, in 2018 the Ministry of Transportation allocated a budget of IDR 77 billion (contract work of IDR 73 billion) for continued work of making walls, installing ceramics and installing glass on the second floor, as well as construction of toilets for the Timika Airport passenger terminal building. Meanwhile, the budget disbursed this year from the State Budget through the Ministry of Transportation for this work is worth IDR 43 billion.
