Covid-19 Sinovac Vaccine from Biofarma Arrives in Jayapura, Papua




The supply of the Corona or Covid-19 virus vaccine made by Sinovac, sent by PT Bio Farma (Persero) from Bandung, West Java, was reported to have been purchased in Jayapura, Papua.

The head of the Papua Health Service, Robby Kayame, confirmed this news in Jayapura. He said the Covid-19 vaccine was immediately taken to the Jayapura Hospital Dok II area.

The Covid-19 vaccine arrives at Sentani Airport in Jayapura using a Garuda plane with flight number GA 658 from Jakarta, Monday at around 10.30 WIT.

Currently the Covid-19 vaccine is still being unloaded from the transport truck and will be stored in a special storage room at Dok II, he said.

When asked about the number of vaccines received, Kayame admitted that she did not know for sure because it was packaged in eight boxes.

Regarding the recipients of the Covid-19 vaccine, it is not certain how many recipients are in total because the first stage is for health workers, Kayame said.

Jayapura City Head of Health, dr. Ni Nyoman Antari separately admitted that for the initial stage, Jayapura City will receive 14,000 doses of vaccine.

Currently the health office is conducting verification regarding Covid-19 vaccine recipients, because the number of health workers is around 600 people, not including those on duty in eight hospitals.

Various preparations are currently being made before the Covid-19 vaccine is carried out, said dr. Nyoman Antari.

The Papua Covid-19 Prevention and Management Task Force noted that until Sunday (3/1/2021) there were 13,590 positive Covid-19 patients, 12,265 of whom recovered and 243 people died, and 1,082 people were treated.
