Schedule of XX Papua 2021 PON Officially Released

The XX Papua National Sports Week (PON), which was originally held in 2020, was forced to postpone a year due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. The committee has also rescheduled the agenda.

The latest PON XX Papua 2021 schedule has been released. However, the competition agenda that was drawn up was still tentative.

The procession of the PON Papua 2021 opening ceremony is planned to take place at the Papua Bangkit Stadium on October 2, 2021.

Meanwhile, the quadrennial event will officially close at the same place on Friday (13/10/2021).

Although PON Papua will only open on October 2, 2021, a number of athletes have been scheduled to arrive in Cenderawasih since September 20, 2021.

Because, like other multi-event events, there are several sports that are scheduled to start sooner.

From the schedule received by Skor.id, there were three sports that began to be competed on September 23, 2021 and they became the fastest among the others.

The three of them are canoeing at Youtefa Bay, softball (male at Uncen Softball Field, female at Air Force Baseball / Softball Field), and water polo at Kampung Harapan Aquatik Stadium.

The schedule above is in accordance with the explanation of the Deputy Secretary IV for Public Relations of PB PON XX Papua, Kadkiz Matdoan.

"The opening and closing of XX PON will be held on October 2 and 15, 2021," he said via short message.
