Ahead of the implementation of the XX National Sports Week (PON) in October 2021 in Papua, the Jayapura City Tourism Office focuses on structuring tourist areas to make visitors feel safe and comfortable.
"We are currently starting to develop and organize tourist objects so that visitors feel at home traveling in Jayapura City," said the Head of the Jayapura City Tourism Office, Matias B. Mano, at the Jayapura Mayor's Office, Thursday (18/2/2021).
Jayapura City has various natural, religious, and historical tourist destinations, such as Hamadi Beach, Dok 2 Beach, Base-G Beach, Holtekamp Beach, Japanese Army Landing Monument, Youtefa Bridge, and Holtekamp Beach, as well as hot springs in Muara District Tami, which is well worth a visit.
"That is a focus that needs to be restructured and regulated throughout the infrastructure, both facilities and infrastructure, starting from accommodation to restaurants and hotels," said Matias.
In addition to developing and structuring tourist areas, Matias said, his party also focuses on cleaning and infrastructure arrangements.
The holding of various events that are able to promote tourism potential in the capital of Papua Province, according to Matias Mano, is able to have implications for increasing visitors and the economy of residents, especially those managing tourist attractions.
"If explored properly, of course it will bring many benefits and benefits to the people of Jayapura City," said Matias Mano.
The Deputy Mayor of Jayapura, Rustan Saru, said that the development and arrangement of tourist areas must also be supported by people from various elements in Jayapura City.
