Exotic Panoramas Complete Three PON 2021 Papua Venues

Archery arena for the first time is present at Cenderawasih Earth after being officially selected to hold the 2021 National Sports Week (PON).

Interestingly, the archery arena in the Kampung Harapan sports complex, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency stands on a field with an exotic panorama right at the foot of Mount Cycloop covering an area of ​​40,863 square meters.

Noted, this venue was built with an area of ​​1,217 square meters and has a playing field of around 10,100 square meters and is equipped with a training field covering an area of ​​8,207 square meters.

The presence of the venue, which was built in a package with paddle and roller skates, is stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No.1 of 2020 concerning the Acceleration of Support for the Implementation of the XX National Sports Week (PON) and the XVI National Paralympic Week 2020 in Papua Province.

The three venues whose construction cost Rp116.583 billion were directly handled by the PUPR Ministry in cooperation with PT Nindya Karya (Persero) and are targeted to be completed in April 2021.

The PUPR Minister, Basuki Hadimuljono, said that the construction of the PON 2021 Papua sports venue was carried out starting from the design, construction and supervision stages.

"It is hoped that the completion of the PON venue will not only be the pride of the Papuan people, but also the pride of all Indonesian people," said Basuki as quoted by Jubi.

"It is also hoped that this will encourage young people, especially Papuan athletes, to be more enthusiastic and excel in becoming champions, both in the national and international arena," he continued.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Papua Province, Lukas Enembe, is optimistic that the PON 2021 Papua event can run successfully, because the venue is prepared with an international standard.

"Now we have built all international standard venues. We are ready to be a good host to all participants from all provinces in Indonesia," he explained.

"Our aim to build a venue with international standards is not only for the holding of PON, but it can host Asian events and even the 2032 Olympics," he concluded.
