KONI Kepri Allocates IDR 3.5 billion for PON Papua

KONI Kepri prepares a special budget to face the 20th National Sports Week (PON) in Papua, amounting to IDR 3.5 billion.

The funds will be used for the purposes of facing PON, starting from the preparation and provision of equipment, accommodation for athletes and coaches, transportation, and pocket money.

However, from the results of the budget calculations held through the coordination meeting of the Riau Islands, it was known that a budget of Rp 4.7 billion was needed to face this prestigious event. So that the Riau Islands KONI experienced a minus of approximately Rp. 1 billion.

"For that, later we will invite all sports branch leaders to have some kind of synchronization related to this budget. So that the results can be maximized later, "said Head of KONI Kepri Usep RS.

His party also hopes, although the PON Papua preparations carried out by KONI Kepri are a little "stuck" in terms of budget, but not to limit performance.

"Hopefully, PON preparation with the available funds can be done as much as possible. Considering that we are working bismililah, and with the available funds, "he explained.

In the 20th PON which will be held in October 2021, KONI Kepri passed 15 sports (sports) and 51 athletes to participate. The 15 sports are athletics, billiards, chess, futsal, shooting, muaythai, sailing, karate, swimming, diving, pencak silat, Sepak Takraw, boxing, degree fighting and wushu.
