PLN Will Soon Add Generating Machines

In an effort to improve the reliability of the electricity system and the 24-hour running hours in Dogiyai, Deiyai ​​and Paniai, PLN will immediately add generating engines to supply the three districts. Currently two engines with a total capacity of 2 MW from Biak are already in Nabire.

It is planned that the power plant will be located in Deiyai ​​Regency. Meanwhile, PLN is still preparing the location of the power plants for the three districts.

"We are currently in the stage of building a power house and a foundation for a power plant. After the location is ready, we will immediately send the machine to Deiyai ​​for installation, ”said General Manager of the PLN Main Unit for Papua and West Papua, Abdul Farid, last Friday (26/3).

Previously, PLN had coordinated and held meetings with the three Regents. Deiyai ​​Regent Ateng Edowai has agreed with the plan to concentrate power plants for the three regencies in his area.
 
"The location of the power plant is concentrated in Deiyai. The location will be prepared by PLN, we will prepare another. I hope people in the three districts cannot refuse, because lights are the main human need, ”said Ateng.

Farid explained that Deiyai ​​was chosen as the location for the power plant to supply the three districts because of its location in the middle between Dogiyai and Paniani. "With the load center in the middle, it is hoped that the electrical system will be more reliable," he said.

In addition to adding machines on the generator side, to support electricity supply to customers, PLN is also building and repairing the existing electricity networks in Dogiyai, Deiyai ​​and Paniai.

"We are targeting that by June the electricity grid work will be completed and the machines can operate to supply power to customers," said Farid.

Currently Dogiyai, Deiyai ​​and Paniai have each capable of generating power of 1000 kW. This power supplies 5,988 customers in three districts. "Hopefully this work can run smoothly and be completed on time, so that all customers in Dogiyai, Deiyai ​​and Paniai can immediately enjoy electricity for 24 hours straight," he said.
