Jayapura Regency has received a new shipment of 10,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine




A total of 8,493 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine received by the Jayapura District Health Office from January 13 to March 31, 2021 have been used up for vaccinating public servants, medical personnel, TNI, Polri as well as the elderly and some of the general public in Jayapura Regency, Papua. The Jayapura District Health Office has received 10,000 doses of the new COVID-19 vaccine which will be used in vaccinations in April.

This was stated by the Head of the Jayapura Regency Health Office, Khairul Lie in Sentani, the capital of Jayapura Regency, Papua, Monday (12/4/2021). The total dose received up to March 31, 2021 is 8,493 doses. It's been used up, "said Khairul.

According to him, until March 31, 2021, 7,059 people had received the first injection of the COVID-19 vaccine. In addition, 1,993 people have received a second injection of the COVID-19 vaccine. Khairul explained, the second injection of the COVID-19 vaccine was given 28 days after the first injection.

Khairul said a shipment of 10,000 Sinovac vaccines had been received on April 8. "We will get a new stock of Sinovac vaccine on April 8, 2021, totaling 10,000 doses. [The vaccine] will be used starting this week in 23 vaccinator health facilities throughout Jayapura Regency, "he explained.

Khairul explained that the vaccine used in the COVID-19 vaccination in Jayapura Regency is a vaccine produced by Sinovac. Khairul stated that the use of the vaccine had received official permission from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM), and the World Health Organization (WHO).

Khairul also stated that tens of thousands of people in Papua have been injected with the COVID-19 vaccine, and they are still in good health. "A few days ago, together with the Papua Health Office, we held a three-day Vaccine Festival in two different places. As a result, there are 972 people who have been vaccinated, "he said.

A resident of Sentani, the capital of Jayapura Regency, Aleksander Demetouw said that at first he was reluctant to get checked out and undergo a COVID-19 vaccination. After hearing about the Vaccine Gebyar in Jayapura Regency, he finally dared himself to be injected with the COVID-19 vaccine.

"Many people also participated, this is the first stage, and I hope that 28 days will remain in good condition for the second stage. There is indeed a strange feeling in the body, such as pain in the arm of the [injected] hand. The next day, there was also a feeling of drowsiness, ”said Demetouw.
