PB PON: all arenas will be ready for use in June 2021

The Papua Province National Sports Week (PB PON) Grand Committee said all competition arenas were ready for use in June 2021 for event tests.

PB PON General Secretary (Sekum) Elia Loupatty told Antara in Jayapura, Friday, said that currently there is only a temporary arena left, which is to be built in the near future.

"It is temporary because it cannot be built in advance because it is feared that it will be damaged," he said.

According to Loupatty, no later than June 2021 it can be used so that it is basically ready to carry out the PON XX event test.

"As for the rugby venue, it is currently being handled by the Papua Province Sports and Youth Office (Disorda)," he said.

He explained the reason was that the construction of this rugby arena had its own techniques, for example the use of synthetic grass so that it did not take a long time to prepare it.

"Then basically all venues can be used by the public after the event is held, but this must be adjusted according to the management of the local government," he said again.

He added that his party hopes that security and public order must be maintained so that Papua can be a good host and convince all parties that Papua can make PON XX 2021 a success.
