Indigenous Papuans Continue to Be Victims of Violence
Intelligence and terrorism observer Stanislaus Riyanta regrets that indigenous Papuans (OAP) continue to be victims of the terrorist atrocities of the Free Papua Operation (OPM).
According to Stanislaus, this fact shows that the OPM or armed criminal groups (KKB) are increasingly barbaric and use violence to achieve their goals.
"Their methods and movements are in accordance with the definition of terrorism in Law No. 5 of 2018. This action can also be judged that they are getting more and more pressured, thus increasing the intensity of their actions," said Stanislaus.
Stanislaus hopes that the cooperation between the security forces and the community needs to be strengthened. "Security officers must be present to protect the public, and the public must fully trust the security forces," he said.
It is known, recently, the KKB action killed three OAPs or on Friday (4/6/2021). One of them is Patianus Kogoya, a village head in Nipuralome, Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua. Patianus suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head.
This was revealed when the Head of Kago Village, Denis Wonda along with nine other OAPs reported the shooting incident of six OAPs to the Puncak Police. Three OAPs were declared dead and the rest were injured.
At the same time, Puncak Police Chief Kompol I Nyoman Punia is conducting a crime scene investigation (TKP) related to a number of buildings at Aminggaru Airport, Ilaga, which were burned by OPM terrorists, Thursday (3/6). The police chief coordinated with the TNI to evacuate the victims.
Before the shooting of the village head Patianus Kogoya, a tragic story was also experienced by a native Papuan student named Ali Mom. Ali Mom was shot by the Lekagak Telenggen group.
Spokesperson for the West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM) Sebby Sambom admitted to killing and brutally massacring the high school student. Victims are considered provocateurs and members of intelligence or spies.
This OPM terrorist group also shot dead an OAP named Boni Bagau at the end of January 2021. Boni, a civilian in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, was shot by the OPM led by Undius Kogoya
