Media Center of Sub PB PON XX Jayapura Regency is Assessed as Feasible and Strategic

The Directorate General of Public Communication Information (Ditjen IKP) of the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) of the Republic of Indonesia assesses that the Media Center of Sub PB PON XX Cluster Jayapura Regency is feasible and has a strategic location in supporting the implementation of PON XX 2021 in October.

This is according to the results of a survey by the Directorate General of IKP of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics for two days starting from June 21 to 22, 2021, conducting a working visit to the cluster organizing PON XX, Jayapura Regency.

The survey was conducted to see firsthand and ensure the feasibility of the Media Center Sub PB PON XX Jayapura Regency. Because in addition to socialization, the provision of this media center is also part of the task of the Ministry of Communication and Information in order to support the implementation of PON XX and Peparnas 2021 in Papua.

The Coordinator of Program Planning and Reporting at the Directorate General of IKP, Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Prasetyo Hadi, said the purpose of this survey was to find out and see first hand and ensure the feasibility of the Media Center Sub PB PON XX Cluster Jayapura Regency.

According to him, the socialization and provision of a media center is in accordance with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 10 of 2017 concerning support for the implementation of XX PON and 2021 Peparnas in Papua.

"Indeed, our task is in the field of socialization and the provision of a media center, which is in accordance with the functions of the Directorate General of Information and Public Communication," said Prasetyo Hadi in a press statement after the media center survey of Sub PB PON XX Cluster Jayapura Regency at the Grand Allison Hotel, Wednesday (23/23). 6/2021).

The Jayapura Regency Sub-Cluster Media Center, which is located at the Grand Allison Hotel, is a recommendation from the Jayapura Regent through the ICT Sector for Sub-PB PON XX Cluster of Jayapura Regency.

"So this is indeed a recommendation from the Jayapura Regent, for the media center to be located at the Grand Allison Hotel and as stated by Mr. Gustaf (Coordinator for ICT Sector), that the location is indeed very strategic, which is in the middle of the venue in Jayapura Regency," he said. .

It is said, the location of the Sub-PB PON XX media center in the Jayapura Regency Cluster is easier for media crews to access during the 2021 PON XX implementation later.

"In addition, we also ensure that the location can accommodate approximately how many media crews and we ensure the ICT network with the ICT Sub-PB PON Sector," he said.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator for ICT Sub-PB PON XX Cluster Jayapura Regency, Gustaf Griapon, ST, conveyed the reasons why Grand Allison Hotel was recommended as a Media Center.

“First, the hotel is strategic and he is in the middle. Because there are several sports (Cabor) in Doyo (Waibu) and some in Kampung Harapan (East Sentani District)," explained the man who is also the Acting Head of the Jayapura Regency Kominfo Service.

In addition, said Gustaf, there is convenience in installing a Fiber Optic (FO) network from Astinet, also supported by an adequate or easy parking space, a comfortable room and away from the noise of the highway.

It is known, last Friday (18/6/2021), a survey of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure has been carried out at venues in the Jayapura Regency Cluster. Then on Tuesday (22/6/2021) it was continued by conducting a survey to the Media Center of Sub PB PON XX Cluster Jayapura Regency, which was located at the Grand Allison Hotel, Sentani City.
