Police Will Guard Development in Papua from KKB Threats

The National Police said they would guard development in Papua from the threat of the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

No group should be allowed to interfere with development in Papua.

"Development in Papua must continue because development itself will prosper the people in Papua," said Karo Penmas of the Public Relations Division of the Police Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono to reporters.

Rusdi reminded the KKB that Papua is part of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia. The decision is final and cannot be contested by any party.

"We make sure again that NKRI is Papua. Papua is NKRI and that is final. All development activities in this country are carried out in Papua," he said.

Furthermore, Rusdi said that his party would take action against anyone who interferes with the government's efforts to develop Papua.

"Police and TNI as state instruments will of course carry out their duties and obligations optimally and will complete all their duties and obligations in Papua," he said.

Previously, Kabaintelkam Komjen Pol Paulus Waterpauw revealed the identity of the Papuan KKB terrorist group which is still actively carrying out terror in the land nicknamed the black pearl.

Paulus noted that at least 9 Papuan KKB terrorist groups are still active.

However, there are also groups that have decided not to actively carry out security disturbances in Papua.

"The current separatist movement is still spreading its own movement by wanting independence through armed violence," Paulus said in an online discussion, Friday (28/5/2021).

The nine terrorist groups that are still active are the Sabinus Walker, Undius Kogoya, and Lewis Kogoya groups who are usually active in the Intan Jaya area of ​​Papua.

Then, the Goliath Tabuni, Lekagak Telenggen, Peni Murib and Ando Waker groups who used to carry out terror around Puncak Papua.
