Supporting the Sustainability of Special Autonomy, Formation of New Guinea and XX Papua PON

Dr. Yuni Wonda, S., Sos., SIP., MM (Regent of Puncak Jaya) said that he strongly supports the policies issued by the Government regarding the Sustainability of Special Autonomy, the Establishment of new autonomous regions and the implementation of PON XX 2021 in Papua.

Yuni Wonda conveyed the history of Otsus in outline that Otsus was given by the central government to Papua with all its authority to regulate the acceleration of development in the regions for equalization in all fields.

Now, after several decades of Otsus, the government has finally taken the initiative to conduct a large-scale evaluation to assess the effectiveness of the use of the Special Autonomy funds.

This is done so that if previously there was an error in its management, improvements must be made immediately so that in the future its management must be right on target in the sense that all development processes must be felt by the community.

Yuni Wonda also added that regarding the formation of new autonomous regions, the government's discourse is clear, namely in order to cut down the bureaucratic system. Once again, I believe that all policies taken by the government are solely for the good of the community and not for trouble.

If later the new autonomous regions have been formed, there will be many opportunities for the entire community such as employment, business opportunities will be greater and other things as. Wouldn't this help the community?

He also conveyed that the XX PON is a national event which is an event of pride for all Indonesian people.

Now we have the opportunity to host the XX PON in Papua. We should be proud, at least it is a history that this national event was held in Papua.

With the XX PON in Papua, the economic turnover will increase and all people will feel it. It's just a matter of how our society or SMEs must have high creativity so that it attracts enthusiasts, especially guests who come to buy their wares.

We as Papuans ourselves certainly have a very big responsibility in order to make this XX PON successful.

Currently responding to these 3 agendas, there are many rejections from people in various regions. This is a mistake and I believe it was played by some individuals or groups who are ideologically opposed to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

As a country, I emphasize that we must not lose to these few groups whose existence only wants to create chaos in this country. We have TNI-POLRI officers who are indeed selected and trained to provide a sense of security to the community in every inch of the territory of the Republic of Indonesia, including Kab. Puncak Jaya.

Yuni Wonda invites that we as a society should support all policies from the government, because indeed all of them are for our own good and progress. This we must understand together.
