Supporting the Sustainability of Special Autonomy and New Guinea in Papua

Soleman Boma, SH (Assistant II Kab. Paniai) said he supports the Sustainability of Otsus and DOB in Papua.

He said, the policy for implementing the use and allocation of the special autonomy fund should be more flexible to meet the needs and interests of the community, because sometimes what is needed by the community cannot be allotted through the special autonomy fund due to the limitations of the work program that has been regulated in the law.

The process of proposing programs and activities should be able to involve village officials and elements of community leaders so that what is the work program for implementing Otsus can be in accordance with what is needed by the community considering the gaps between each region and region in Papua are very complex between regions, monitoring and supervision of the implementation must be further strengthened so as to minimize work programs that are not on target.

In my opinion, the development program/opening of access to isolated areas should be given a bigger portion because it will be able to improve people's living standards, if access to remote and isolated areas can be opened then economic development, education and health services to the community will definitely be better served by good.

He added that related to the expansion of new autonomous regions, it is very necessary to bring the process of government services closer to the community, with the expansion of new autonomous regions such as the expansion of provinces, districts and districts, I am sure that it will create new jobs.
