Sea toll transportation services help local Papuan entrepreneurs

Deputy General Chairperson of Vox Point Indonesia Moses Morin said that the existence of sea toll vessels serving the Papua and West Papua regions really helps local Papuan entrepreneurs in shipping plantation products outside Papua.

"The connectivity system with the ship's timetable has really helped meet the needs of the people in Papua," he said in a transportation webinar that is spearheading Papua's development held by Vox Point Indonesia, Tuesday afternoon.

He acknowledged that the central government's policy through the Ministry of Transportation to provide sea toll transportation services has greatly helped reduce the disparity in the price of basic goods in Papua.

Moses said the presence of the sea toll road in addition to reducing the price of goods also provides added value for local entrepreneurs to be able to send plantation, agricultural and fishery products out of Papua.

"I myself have seen and felt the impact of the sea toll transportation program policy that has been carried out by the Ministry of Transportation," said Moses Morin.

The Deputy of Vox Point Indonesia, Morin, hopes that the smoother sea toll services in the Papua and West Papua regions can support the smooth distribution of goods and services for the community.

Meanwhile, Cenderawasih University Academician Laus Deo Calvin Rumayom acknowledged that sea toll transportation services are very beneficial directly for the smooth distribution of basic goods to Papua and Papua Goods.

It's just that the availability of sea toll transportation, according to Claus Rumayom, must also be balanced with the availability of good roads so that it can provide added value for the local people of Papuan people.

"With the support of sea toll transportation, it has greatly supported the supply of basic material distribution to Papua and West Papua," he said.
