With the “Proud of Papua” Program, Inland Residents Can Livestock and Farm

The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Papua has launched the program to Build a Prosperous Papuan Generation and Family (Proud). This program aims to address the problem of malnutrition and child health in Papua Province.

The Papuan provincial government has just implemented the program in three districts designated as pilot projects, namely in Paniai, Asmat and Lanny Jaya districts. Specifically in Paniai, the implementation of the program was handled by the local government which then formed a Joint Secretariat (Sekber) which consisted of representatives of several Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).

"The farthest villages must be reached by helicopter, such as in the District of Baya Biru, Siriwo, Dogomo, and others,". Proud Papua is a social protection program for indigenous Papuan children under the age of 4 years.

This was agreed by Alfrida Adii, a mother/guardian of a beneficiary child from Enarotali village, East Paniai district who was contacted by telephone. According to him, since 2018 or when Proud Papua was launched, his family's welfare has improved and now he has started farming vegetables in his yard.
