Leaders in Yahukimo Agree to Reject KKB's Presence

The Yahukimo Regency Government held a meeting with Forkopimda, traditional leaders, religious leaders, women's leaders and youth leaders at the Yahukimo Regent's Office Hall, Wednesday (25/08/2021) yesterday.

The meeting discussed the security situation in Yahukimo District, especially regarding a number of violent acts carried out by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB).

They agreed to reject the presence of KKB in Yahukimo Regency because they were not indigenous Yahukimo people.

"There are several agreements, including an agreement to reject the presence of KKB in Yahukimo because they are not native Yahukimo people," said Yahukimo Police Chief, AKBP Denny Herdiana when confirmed on Wednesday (25/08/2021) afternoon.

This meeting was also held to find solutions to the violence perpetrated by armed criminal groups in the region.

In addition, the leaders agreed that what the KKB did could hinder the development carried out by the Yahukimo Regional Government.

An important point in the meeting agreement was how to jointly keep the situation in Yahukimo safe and conducive.

“The existing leaders have a shared responsibility in maintaining the security and social order situation in Yahukimo Regency. If there is a suspicious incident, immediately report it to the authorities. Don't be afraid of this group," he explained.

Regarding the enforcement of this group, the pursuit continues until now.

"We make sure that law enforcement will be carried out against this group," he concluded.
