PB PON Papua: 80 percent of the match equipment has arrived in the cluster

The Daily Chairperson of the Papua PON Grand Committee (PB), Yunus Wonda, ensured that 80 percent of the equipment for the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) had arrived in each cluster. Currently, some equipment is also on its way from Jakarta.

"I have gone directly to the field to check the equipment at the volleyball and rowing venues," said Yunus Wonda in a release received by the Jubi crew, Tuesday (10/8/21).

Yunus explained that several equipment, such as shooting equipment in Jayapura Regency and billiards in Timika, had already been installed at the venue.

"We make sure that for equipment financed from the APBD, 80 percent have arrived in Jayapura and Mimika," he explained.

Meanwhile, the procurement of equipment for sports provided by the state budget, Yunus emphasized that no later than the end of August or early September had arrived in each cluster.

"Procurement of equipment for sports provided by the Papuan APBD for the Mimika cluster, billiard equipment has been installed at the venue, 5 x 5 basketball equipment, Handball (handball) carpets have arrived, while handball equipment and timing system for athletics are on their way from Jakarta to Mimika," he said.

Meanwhile, for the Jayapura City cluster, rowing, indoor volleyball and beach equipment have arrived at the venue. The timing system for roller skates has also arrived in Jayapura and is temporarily being accommodated in the Equipment Division warehouse at the Kotaraja Autonomous Office, Jayapura City. For sailing, diving, swimming, all equipment is currently on its way from Jakarta to Jayapura.

He continued, for the Jayapura Regency cluster, until now the equipment that has been installed at the venue is shooting sports. Meanwhile, softball, baseball, diving and swimming equipment are all en route from Jakarta to Jayapura and are scheduled to arrive in Jayapura next week.

For the Merauke Regency cluster, PB PON Papua has the responsibility for the procurement of equipment for motor sports, scheduled for the end of this month 33 units of Yamaha MX and 41 units of motocross will arrive in Merauke.

PON XX Papua will take place from October 2-15, 2021. The four-year national multi-branch will compete in 37 sports. The location of the match will take place in four clusters, namely Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika Regency, and Merauke.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Mimika Regency Rock Climbing Daily who is also the coordinator of the Mimika PON Sub PB arena, Muhammad Basyar, also said that all rock climbing sports equipment is scheduled to arrive at the end of August.

"All rock climbing sports equipment is from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and is in the process of being sent to Mimika. The plan is to use a ship," he said.
