KELIOPAS REFIDESO: “OTSUS PROSPERS THE COMMUNITY OF WEST PAPUA”

Papua Special Autonomy (Otsus) is a special authority that is recognized and granted to the Papua Province, including the provinces resulting from the expansion of the Papua Province. They are mandated to regulate and manage the interests of the local community according to their own initiative based on the aspirations and basic rights of the Papuan people.

Referring to Law number 21 of 2001, Otsus aims to improve the standard of living, prosperity and welfare of the community; realizing fairness of acceptance of natural resources; enforcement of human rights and the implementation of good governance.

Keliopas Refideso, Head of Refideso Village, Kuri District, Kab. Teluk Bintuni strongly agrees with the support for Special Autonomy from the central government to the Papuan people. According to him, Otsus has an important role in the progress of the Land of Papua. The progress covers various sectors such as education, health and infrastructure development.

Keliopas admits that in its implementation, Otsus has not been fully known by the Papuan people in general. This is because the funds are still combined with the Village Dan, the Village Fund Budget (ADD), and others. It is hoped that in the future it can be arranged and separated by itself, so that the community can understand and understand the sources of funds used to meet the needs of the Papuan people.

Keliopas invites all Papuan people to support the sustainability of Otsus, because with Otsus Papuans can live a decent and prosperous life. He also asked the public not to be influenced and provoked by the invitation of group elements who rejected Otsus.
