Opened on October 2, Papua is Ready to Hold PON 2021

The XX Papua National Sports Week or PON XX will be officially opened soon. The opening of the PON 2021 will be held on October 2, 2021 at the Lukas Enembe Stadium by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

Maximum preparations have been made by the XX Papua PON committee. Until September 23, 2021, preparations for the implementation of PON 2021 have reached 90 percent. Even some sports have started the match.

The latest update on Papua's readiness to promote PON 2021 was revealed by the Coordinator of Revenue for PON XX Papua 2021, Vera Parinussa. "Preparations have been made at 90 percent and there are already sports that are starting to compete, including baseball," said Vera when speaking at the webinar launching the Milo Official Sponsor of PON XX Papua 2021.

Some sports will indeed compete before the opening will be held on 2 October. There are football, tennis to exhibitions such as Kickboxing and esports which will start early.

PON Papua will be attended by a total of 6,400 athletes from 37 sports. Not only competition facilities and accommodation are the committee's attention. The nutritional intake of PON participants was also considered.

Fortunately, regarding nutrition intake, PON XX Papua will not be too difficult because it has just been confirmed to receive support from Nestle Milo, which is the official partner of this five-year event.
