Gosh! KKB Terrorists Shoot Smart Air Plane Repeatedly During Landing and Take Off

Armed Criminal Group (KKB) terrorists shot a Smart Air plane at the airport in Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains, Papua, yesterday (8/10). Unmitigated, the plane was shot many times while landing and taking off from the airport.

Reported by Jawa Pos, the group, which the government calls the terrorist separatist group (KST), shot down the plane at 09.20 WIT. The first shooting occurred when the plane was about to land. As a result, the left wing of the aircraft perforated. Then, the plane was shot again shortly after take off.

The plane is a fleet that transports logistics materials as well as security forces. Luckily, the plane was safe and nothing untoward happened. It was confirmed that the plane and its pilot had landed in Oksibil, the Star Mountains.

Spokesman for the West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM) Sebby Sambom said the plane was shot because it was carrying TNI personnel. "We have given a warning some time ago, we will shoot every plane carrying the apparatus," he said.

He said TPNPB-OPM had warned that civilian aircraft should not carry TNI and Polri personnel. At the same time stop activities in conflict areas. "We have been reminded four times," he told Jawa Pos yesterday.

Meanwhile, Head of the Nemangkawi Public Relations Task Force Kombespol AM Kamal could not comment on the incident. "Perhaps those who know the TNI," he said when contacted yesterday.

Kapendam Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih Colonel (Arm) Reza Nur Patria is also still seeking information about the shooting. "If there are developments, I will tell you," he explained.

On the other hand, terrorism observer Al Chaidar said security guarantees for residents in Papua should also include aviation security. This is because flights in Papua are the main means of transportation. "Security must really be maintained," he said.

If necessary, several radii around the airport in Papua will be blocked to ensure flight safety. He said the incident that happened to Smart Air with its crew and passengers should not happen again. "I believe that the TNI and Polri are capable of providing aviation security," he said.
