BENNY B. SAIBA : OTSUS BRINGS POSITIVE CHANGE

Special Autonomy (Otsus) is a government program for the welfare of Papua through various programs such as infrastructure development, adequate community services, and improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) of indigenous Papuans so that they can compete with other regions in Indonesia.

Community Leader and Former Assistant 2 for Economics and Development of the District. Manokwari Benny B Saiba expressed his support for the sustainability of Otsus which had been ratified after 20 years.

"Hopefully with the continuation of Otsus, positive changes will increase in Papua as we Papuans expect," said Benny B Saiba.

However, he hopes that the government can establish direct communication with the community to accommodate the aspirations or requests of the lower classes, especially for people who do not fully understand the rules in the newly ratified Special Autonomy Law.
