MELKIANUS OSOK: TO SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT, OTSUS MUST CONTINUE

Deputy Chairman II of the Greater Papuan Indigenous Cross Forum (FLSA-PR) of Sorong City, Melkianus Osok, gave a firm statement that Special Autonomy (Otsus) for the Land of Papua must continue for the sake of sustainable development in the Land of Papua.

"We Papuans who are members of the LMA, Barisan Merah Putih, and all components of society in Sorong City still need Otsus so that the program must be continued for the sake of continuing development," said Melkianus.

Melkianus assessed that the main focus that must be realized by the government is the articles contained in the Law on Special Autonomy for the Land of Papua. According to him, the acceleration of development in Papua can be fulfilled if Otsus continues to run with reference to the law.

"Hopefully in the next period of Otsus, the Otsus system and mechanism, especially in terms of budget management, can be improved to avoid budget irregularities," he hoped.
