1 Immigrant in Yahukimo Papua Killed Persecuted by Unknown Person

A migrant resident in Yahukimo, Papua was persecuted by an unknown person (OTK) to death. The victim, named Ngatiman, was persecuted at an agricultural location, Jalan Paradiso, Kali Brasa Bawah, Dekai District, on Friday (12/24/2021) at 12.15 WIT,

The incident began when the victim Ngatiman, who lives on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Km 1 Dekai, rode a motorcycle at the Paradiso plantation location to pick up bananas and vegetables to take them to the Kota Dekai market.
 
However, at 12:28 WIT the victim contacted his colleagues, Taufik Hidayat and Agus to come to the garden. At that time both of them were asked by the victim to bring drinking water because they were injured by an unknown person with a machete.

The Head of Public Relations of the Papuan Police, Kombes Pol. Ahmad Musthofa Kamal, said that Taufik Hidayat and Agus then went to the crime scene (TKP) and saw the victim sitting on the side of the road in a weak state while covering his head with a cloth due to being slashed by a sharp object in the form of a machete.

"The two of them then took the victim to the house of witness 1 which is located on Jalan Paradiso (plantation area) with a distance of 1 km from the scene," he said, quoted on Saturday (12/25/2021).

After receiving the report, the personnel of the Gakkum Ops Nemangkawi Task Force led by Ipda Syahrudin along with the UKL III Patrol Team went to witness 1's house and then took the victim to the Dekai Hospital for medical treatment.
 
After arriving at the Dekai Hospital, the victim received medical treatment. However, a few moments later the doctor declared the victim dead.

Furthermore, joint personnel came to the location of the victim's abuse to conduct a crime scene to see firsthand the incident.

Ahmad Musthofa Kamal stated that currently the perpetrators are still under investigation by the Yahukimo Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

"The plan is Saturday, December 25, the victim's body will be returned to his hometown in Jember, East Java by plane," he said.

Head of Information for Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih Col. Inf. Aqsha Erlangga confirmed that there was information about an attack by an unknown person against a civilian in Yahukimo.
 
"It is true that there was an attack by an unknown person. Based on information in the field, there is a suspicion that the perpetrator of the KKB was but this is still being investigated," said Kapendam.
