OJK assesses the performance of Bank Papua continues to improve
The Financial Services Authority of the Provinces of Papua and West Papua stated that although the gross Non-Performing Loan (NPL) of Bank Papua was at the level of 4.3 percent until the third quarter of 2021, the OJK assessed that the management of Bank Papua was very good, the trend was increasing.
Head of the OJK Office for Papua and West Papua Provinces, Adolf Fictor Tunggul Simanjuntak in Jayapura, Sunday, said his party also asked the public not to worry about the performance of banks belonging to the region.
"We continue to monitor periodically, if there are things regarding fraud or fraud, they will definitely be called to explain why it happened and what steps are taken by management so that fraud does not occur elsewhere," he said.
According to Adolf, in 2020, Bank Papua's NPL will be below five percent, then it will have a profit of IDR 300 billion where until the end of this year, OJK expects Bank Papua's profit to be even greater.
"Meanwhile, in terms of assets, seen from the publication balance, there was an increase from Rp. 25 trillion to Rp. 35 trillion," he said.
He explained that if assets increase, it means that third party funds or TPF also increase, this indicates that people believe.
"In addition to increasing assets and deposits, regional-owned bank loans also experienced the same thing," he said.
He added that until the third quarter of 2021, Bank Papua's credit distribution had reached more than Rp. 17 trillion.
