UIP Can Accelerate Welfare Development in Papua

The Papua International University campus will soon be built on the earth of paradise. His presence is believed to be able to accelerate the development of the welfare of Papua.

The establishment of UIP was based on the Decree (SK) of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 24/E/O/2022 which was issued on January 17, 2022.

The presence of UIP is believed to be able to produce quality human resources that contribute to development in Papua.
 
"UIP is expected to be a light from the east to start a new foundation for the development of East Indonesia that is quality, competitive, and able to improve performance and absorb potential workers who are qualified in their fields," said Deputy II of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Abetnego Tarigan.

According to Abetnego, UIP will have good potential in developing cooperation in the field of international education because Papua is strategically located close to and bordering several countries, including Papua New Guinea (PNG), Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific countries.
 
"UIP needs to develop networks with universities and institutions abroad to improve its international position and image as with its closest and strategic neighboring countries," he said.

In addition, UIP will bring in the best teachers who are indigenous Papuan children and teachers from abroad with scientific backgrounds that are in line with local needs in Papua.
