Declaration of Korwil II Saireri Indigenous Territory with Indigenous Peoples

Korwil II for the Saireri customary area together with the Biak Numfor Indigenous Community invites all levels of Papuan society to support the resolution of the Papuan Problem with dignity through reconciliation efforts to move forward towards a Safe and Peaceful Papua. This activity was held at Segara Indah Bosnik Biak, (06/03/2022)

This declaration was attended by a number of community members and traditional leaders, youth leaders and women leaders who were in Biak Numfor

This activity was held by hearing statements from traditional leaders and carried out by signing a declaration of attitude statement by traditional leaders, youth, women and the community.

In this declaration there are 3 points stated, namely, by the grace of God Almighty, we, the people of the Saireri region in Biak Numfor district, hereby declare that:

1. We all Saireri Indigenous people support efforts to resolve all conflicts in Papua with dignity for the sake of achieving a peaceful Papua,

2. We, the people of the Saireri Indigenous region, are determined to encourage the resolution of the Papua problem by reconciliation and restitution towards a safe Papua

3. We, the people of the Saireri indigenous territory, support the implementation of the Special Autonomy Law number 02 of 2021 and the plan for the expansion of the new autonomous regions towards a peaceful, safe and prosperous Papua.

This was echoed by all who were present at the declaration activity which was followed by the signing of the declaration.

Meanwhile, David Rumansara as the coordinator of the Saireri Region II Indigenous Peoples Institution (LMA) said, the capacity to be the coordinator of the Saireri Region II Indigenous Peoples Institution, what we did was a large deliberation meeting in Bosnik.

"To hold a grand traditional meeting, we invite you to attend here, namely the Kankain Karkara Biak (KKB) or the Indigenous Institution which is on the islands of Biak, Supiori, Numfor tribes as well as the archipelago association in Biak," said David.

He said, as a breed we were invited to come together here to hold a meeting to convey about our activities as a community that need to be developed in the future in special autonomy so that's what we want to hear directly from them.

"So this is an aspiration that has been carefully stated so that it encourages us to carry out a declaration," he said.

Meanwhile, YYK Mandibodibo as the manfun of the Biak area as well as the chairman of the Kankarabiak KKN traditional institution was present today at this historic moment to appreciate the initiative taken by the LMA coordinator of the saireri to hold a declaration supporting the government's plans which will certainly have an impact on welfare. for the community at large, therefore for us, as the Biak Region manfun, we urge all
