Vice President: The Government Must Change Strategy in Facing Papua's KKB



Vice President, KH Ma'ruf Amin said the government must change its strategy in dealing with Armed Criminal Groups (KKB) in Papua. According to Ma'ruf, the approach taken by the government so far is defensive and passive.
 
Now it must be changed to a defensive and dynamic approach. So that no more victims fall due to the atrocities of the KKB. "In the last meeting, the government will change the strategy to deal with this KKB. There must be a change in strategy so that there are no more victims," said Ma'ruf in Bukittinggi City, Tuesday (12/4/2022).
 
Ma'ruf said that the Papuan people had the right to a calm situation from all kinds of disturbances. A safe situation will support the development of welfare in Papua.

The government, continued Ma'ruf, in this case the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, TNI, Polri, BIN, and all elements involved have also changed the approach strategy in dealing with KKB. So that the problems that occur in Papua can be resolved as quickly as possible.

"There must be a change in steps. Otherwise, it will interfere with improving welfare in Papua," said the Vice President.

The latest information is that KKB shot two residents who were known to be motorcycle taxi drivers in Lumbuk Village, Tinggi Nambut District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Papua.

One person named Soleno Lolo died from being shot in the right rib. Another victim named Sauku Dg Paewa suffered a head injury.
