Prices of various brands of cooking oil in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua, began to fall. The decrease in price ranges from Rp. 1,000 to Rp. 2,000/liter.

The price of cooking oil fell due to the abundance of cooking oil stocks owned by distributors and retailers. The price of oil from the previous Rp28,000/liter to Rp26,000 to Rp27,000 per liter.
 
"The price of cooking oil with certain brands has decreased the selling price. Previously the price reached Rp. 28,000 to Rp. 30,000/liter, now it is Rp. 26,000 to Rp. 27,000/liter," said a shop employee named Hadi, Sunday (22/5). /2022).

He added that the selling price of cooking oil was influenced by the prevailing market mechanism.

"Currently, the stock of cooking oil is quite abundant in the warehouse," he said. Meanwhile, the Head of the Biak Industry and Trade Office, Yubelius Usior, guarantees that the supply of cooking oil at the distributor is still maintained.

"The results of the monitoring of the Disperindag team in the field noted that the stock of cooking oil was sufficient," he said.
