YPMAK Together with BRI Timika Branch Held Training for Prospective Credit Program Debtors

The Amungme Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK), which manages PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) partnership funds, held training for prospective debtors for the YPMAK collaboration credit program with Bank Rakayat Indonesia (BRI) Timika Branch.

The activity was held at the Horoson Dinana Hotel, Jalan Budi Utomo, Timika, Wednesday (20/7/2022) at around 08:00 WIT and lasted for two days.

This training took the theme of Improving Business Knowledge and Skills for MSME Actors of the Amungme and Kamoro tribes and 5 kinship tribes around them, with the aim of improving the local economy, both household and life in the future.

"Today I am proud because I saw many mothers who attended the training for prospective debtors of the YPMAK-BRI credit program," said YPMAK Deputy Director for Monitoring and Evacuation, Nur Ihfa Karupukaro to Tribun-Papua.com.

He said that the presence of mothers today really cares about the kitchen, such as children, husbands and family members in only one way, namely the economy must be strong.

Furthermore, said Nur Ifha, today's training hopes that all economic actors in Mimika can compete with the citizens of the archipelago.

"Currently, the YPMAK program is no longer distributing money. This is all done for the welfare of the citizens so that they can be independent and professional, such as opening a business by utilizing all facilities such as at Bank BRI," he said.

He said the material given to debtor training participants was very good and could be implemented in the future in their daily lives.

"If we want to move forward, then let's do small things like this, we have to follow it well. Ladies and gentlemen, you can definitely be like other Indonesians in Timika," he said.

He emphasized that training participants must be disciplined, responsible, and trustworthy.

Meanwhile, the Head of the BRI Mimika Branch Office, Budi Prasentyanto, expressed his gratitude because YPMAK has given the mandate to partner.

According to him, this collaboration is very good with the aim of providing partnership credit assistance by YPMAK for the Amungme and Kamoro tribes and 5 kinship tribes.

"We, BRI, have been given the mandate since October 2021 until now. We have disbursed loans to 19 people assisted by YPMAK with a total budget of Rp 4.7 billion," he said.

He hopes that the debtors of the YPMAK-BRI credit program will become entrepreneurs in Mimika like friends from outside Papua.

Currently, the Mimika natives in the market already sell rice, vegetables and many others.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you have to move forward. We, BRI, are ready to support the community's economic development," he said.

On the other hand, the Indonesian Cooperative University's Center for Business and Entrepreneurship Incubator, Dr Indra Fahmi, Rector for Cooperation and Marketing at Ikopin University also expressed his gratitude for YPMAK's trust in providing Detibur training.

"We were given the trust by YPMAK to assist the MSME participants. Hopefully it can run well during the two days of training," he said.

He hoped that during the presentation of material by the team from the Indonesian Cooperative University, the trainees could interact with the presenters.
